I thought having him wear his Hawaiian shirt (which I got at the Maui Savers) was only appropriate for his first nori tasting. |
One of my brother and my favorite snacks as a kid was nori - dried seaweed. Our grandparents on Maui would send us big containers of them. We would eat them plain or scoop up rice with them. I thought I would go search for some here in N.C. and see if the Bear would enjoy it as much as I did. I found some at one of Durham's asian markets and lo and behold the Bear has a fondness for nori!
This stuff was a bit oilier than the stuff I recall eating as a child. I will try a different kind next time.
