The Grizzlies

We are so lucky because we live only 2.5 miles from Washington State! It's soooooo cool to say things like, "Yeah, I think I'll bike over to Washington today." or "Maybe I'll head over to Washington later." You know, no biggie. We do this a lot especially now that we know we can visit the Grizzly Bears for free!
Washington State U. is in Pullman, just across the border from our town and they have a Grizzly Research Center. They have at least 12 bears...maybe more or less (?!) The most we've seen out of their cages is 4.
Trying to climb under the fence to get a closer look...of course.
When they are in their cages it's hard to see them because you have to look through two chain link fences and their cages...it's best to view them on a really sunny day because that helps with seeing through all the fences.

We have gone several times in the mornings and that's when the researchers and students are there.

The Bears that are out of their cages have access to a big tub that they like to soak in and a fairly large field. They like to eat grass...who knew?

Stan B likes pointing out their poops (of course) and hearing them growl. They are big and beautiful.
Here they are making noises:
