We eat a lot of pinto and black beans in our family. We soak them overnight and then cook them in the slow cooker the next day. We will make burritos or use them in soups or other dishes. The best part of the process for the Bear is washing them and soaking them.
In these pictures the beans have been soaked and are ready to cook but I let him play with them first. He took them out of the bowl of water and put them on the plate...and then back again. He then threw a lot of them on the floor. Booooo!
That was almost 6 months ago. He hasn't thrown beans like that since, thank goodness. He loves helping me wash them. All those beans in water feel really good!
I can imagine that is a lovely tactile experience!!
