Playing in the Sand after a Long Winter

I think this was one of the first days in late winter/early spring that we went to the park to play in the sand after a long winter.
This little town becomes so quiet in the winter. The park is empty, the trees are leafless, everything looks grey and you rarely see a person outside - unless it is snowing then you see the sledders.

During the warmer months the sand volleyball court is a favorite place to play. So, as soon as the weather felt warmer (30s, 40s?) we went to the park. I was freezing.

And then it got warmer (50s?)

And then I got reminded what having sand thrown on you feels like:

And then May 1st arrives and the Town comes alive again. You see people you haven't seen since October. It's amazing. Everything turns green that day too.
