I usually get eaten alive by mosquitoes when I visit Hawaii (particularly in my Grandma's backyard.) So when I arrived here I looked up some alternative repellents since DEET would probably not be a safe thing for a pregnant lady. One of the things I found was that Listerine was supposed to help...yes, that Listerine, the antiseptic mouthwash. So, I thought I'd give it a try. We got a little spray bottle and poured in some blue-green Listerine, sprayed some on, played some corn hole in the back yard and whaddayaknow - it works. Yes, it's a little sticky but I'd rather be sticky than itchy. The extra plus is that you smell winter fresh.
